It's Saugus Cafe, located in Santa Clarita!
Saugus Cafe is one of the oldest restaurants in California. It first opened in 1886 as the Saugus Eating House, serving train passengers and locals at the Saugus Train Depot. In 1916, the cafe moved across the street to its current location at 25861 Railroad Ave, Santa Clarita, CA 91355.
Over the years, many famous people have dined at Saugus Cafe. Presidents like Benjamin Harrison, Theodore Roosevelt, and Dwight D. Eisenhower visited, as well as important figures in California history, like William Mulholland and Fred Eaton, who helped bring water to Los Angeles. In the early 1900s, Hollywood stars like Charlie Chaplin, Douglas Fairbanks, and Mary Pickford were regular guests.
Even though the cafe has changed owners a few times and briefly closed at certain points, it remains a beloved landmark in Santa Clarita. Today, Saugus Cafe still serves classic American food in a cozy setting filled with history, allowing visitors to experience a taste of the past.
