The best casual bar in Downtown Los Angeles is definitely La Cita Bar.  It's a popular spot for Latin music and it's located in a really old building from 1897.  Inside, you'll find a cozy stage where they play all kinds of music, including traditional Latin tunes.  Outside, they have a chill area called El Patio, where you can relax with drinks like Bloody Marys and Margarita's.
